We believe in one God, the creator and ruler of the universe. The one God is in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is eternal, almighty, all-knowing, most wise, most holy, most loving, gracious, merciful, long-suffering, forgiving iniquity, and ruling in justice.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Son of God, born of the virgin Mary. Jesus is both fully God and fully human. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and in his resurrection, Jesus broke the power of sin and death and opened up our path to eternal life.
We believe in the Holy Spirit who unites us to Christ, reminds us of what Christ taught us, and sanctifies us into holiness. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, leads us to repentance, and imbues us with spiritual gifts.
We believe that the Bible is God’s word to us. It instructs us in truth, trains us in righteousness, and equips us for good works.
We believe that we are saved by faith through grace. None of us are righteous. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. None of us are deserving of salvation, but by the grace of God our sins are forgiven and by faith in Jesus, we are welcomed into God’s kingdom. We are saved by faith alone, but faith is never alone. Where faith is, good works always follow.
The church is the body of Christ and the bride of Christ. It is the fellowship of the faithful and is beloved by God. The great ends of the church are the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind; the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God; the maintenance of divine worship; the preservation of truth; the promotion of social righteousness; and the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.
